Edit a job
Two ways to change a connote — Quick edit in the side drawer for non-pricing details, or Edit booking for anything that affects the price.
There are two ways to change a job after it’s created:
- Quick edit — inline in the side drawer, for non-pricing details.
- Edit booking — opens the full Create Booking form in edit mode, for anything that affects the price. Only while the job is Draft or Pending.
Which one you get depends on status
Section titled “Which one you get depends on status”| Status | Drawer buttons |
|---|---|
| Draft, Pending | Edit booking and Quick edit |
| Confirmed and later | Edit — quick edit only. Pricing, fuel levy, GST and options are locked once the job is dispatched. |
Opening an Edit booking link for a job that has moved past Pending takes you back to the Jobs list with a message saying so.
To book the same job again, use Rebook — it opens Create Booking pre-filled from this job as a new booking, at any status.
Quick edit (side drawer)
Section titled “Quick edit (side drawer)”- Open
/operations/jobs. - Click any row to open the drawer.
- In the drawer header, click Quick edit (or Edit for a dispatched job).
The drawer body switches from read-only view to a form; Cancel and Save changes appear in a sticky footer at the bottom.
Quick edit is intentionally non-pricing. It covers:
- References — Customer Ref and Status.
- Pickup and Delivery — Company, Pickup Date / Delivery Date and Address. Time windows are changed through Edit booking.
- Instructions — Pickup, Delivery, Special and Status Notes.
Changing an address
Section titled “Changing an address”The Address box is a single line. Start typing and pick the address from the suggestions: that fills in the suburb, state and postcode behind it.
If you type a new line and save without picking a suggestion, Onyx works out the suburb, state and postcode from what you typed. If the line names no recognisable place, they are left blank, and Send to iDrv4 then refuses the job until the address is re-picked, rather than sending a street from one place with the suburb of another. Saving the same line again keeps the suburb, state and postcode already stored.
Address edits do not re-price the job. If the change moves it to a different zone, use Edit booking to re-rate.
Base rate, fuel levy, GST and the option flags are addon-driven and are not in quick edit — change them through Edit booking.
Edit booking (full form)
Section titled “Edit booking (full form)”Click Edit booking in the drawer header to open the full Create Booking form in edit mode. It reopens the booking as it was saved:
- the stored addon lines, including manual cost lines — and a manual surcharge keeps its pencil, so its amount can still be changed;
- the Charge By the booking was priced on (for example Chargeable Weight on an oversize pallet booking), not the job type’s first option;
- every pickup and delivery stop, including a leg saved as TBA.
Recalculation is available after you change addresses, cargo, or service level. Save from the form to update the connote. See Create a booking.
Save (quick edit)
Section titled “Save (quick edit)”Click Save changes in the sticky footer. On success:
- A Saved toast appears at the bottom-right.
- The drawer re-opens with the updated read-only view.
- The Jobs list refreshes so any status badge or date changes appear immediately.
Cancel
Section titled “Cancel”Click Cancel (or press Escape) to discard changes and return to the read-only view. No fetch, no risk of partial save.
Validation errors
Section titled “Validation errors”If the server rejects the save (for example, an invalid postcode), the toast shows the first few field-level errors and the form stays open so you can fix them.
Proof of delivery on the full page
Section titled “Proof of delivery on the full page”The expand icon in the drawer header opens the job’s full page (/operations/connotes/<id>).
Its Proof of Delivery card lists:
- Driver PODs — the signatures and photos the driver took in the app, grouped by the stop they were taken at, with Pickup stops before Delivery stops. Anything not tied to a stop is listed under Driver submitted. Each has a Download button.
- Generated — POD documents made with Generate POD. A generated POD takes the receiver’s name, the delivery time, the driver and the signature from the driver’s completed delivery stop, and includes the driver’s photos. Retire one with the archive button: it is hidden from the card but kept on record.
Driver PODs are kept on record. There is no delete button for them on this page.
If one of the two lists cannot be loaded, the card still shows the other. If neither can, it says Couldn’t load POD documents with a Retry button.
